What is mental health first aid training?

The idea of Mental Health First Aid is very similar to the more commonly known First Aid training that many people in the general public have completed.

Those with a First Aid certificate (though not considered healthcare professionals) are able to provide critical and sometimes lifesaving support. So it is with Mental Health First Aid certification: these people can provide important and often life-saving support for those struggling with their mental health and general wellbeing, until professional help arrives or the person’s issues are revolved.

TRAINING: First Sessions: 7-10th October 2024

Meaning behind the name and TOMB Rider logo:

TOMB Rider stands for ‘Top of Mount Buninyong Rider’. The logo is a picture of a rider breaking through the clouds and reaching the top of the mountain.

An analogy for the difficult journey many people make with their mental health, as they come out from under a mental cloud and into the clear skies and sunshine of a healthy mind, and hope on the horizon.
